Fighting for a cure to childhood cancer

The Laurel’s Army Foundation was formed in 2013 by Steven and Melissa Batchelder in response to watching their 3-year-old daughter, Laurel, bravely fight and win her battle against a rare solid cancerous tumor in 2010.

Through Laurel’s experience, and subsequent meetings with staff and faculty at Texas Children’s Cancer Center, we realized we could help bridge the enormous funding gap for pediatric cancer research efforts.  Oncologists today are fighting to find better treatment protocols that heal these kids in the present AND help them live on to be healthy adults.
